I got this case because I like the oregame style, (that's getting hard to find) and it looked like a robust and safe item. I was right! I'm not worried about dropping my kindle at all. Or dropping something on it. This case is a piece of armor. Yet it folds up and back back closed quite easily. I'm very happy with this case. You can't beat the price either!I bought this case for my new Kindle Paperwhite. It fits very well, and is sturdy. (I had the same brand for my earlier Kindle Paperwhite--now with my wife). When opened as a stand, it supports the Kindle nicely, (in both vertical and horizontal modes) and has enough "stickiness" to keep it in place on an airline tray table. It can also be used as a "handle". When using it vertically, the Kindle is slightly off center (leaning slightly to the left). My old case had the same "tilt". It's not a big problem, but I thought it worth mentioning.I had my last Kindle for seven years with no issues at all. I am hoping this one will be as long. I only thing I don’t like about it is the how the page flickers when you turn it but I’m getting used to itI’ve only had it for a few months and the cover is already worn down. But it was a good purchase for the money.I’ve had a couple of these origami-style cases, and I was surprised at how well the stand on this one holds up. It’s noticeably stronger than my other ones, standing without any issues even on uneven, soft surfaces. Not any thicker or heavier than other cases either. Also, the color is on both the front and back, which is a nice touch. Sleep on/off works great. It was a little more expensive than some cases, and I originally picked it bc of the unique color options, but I now feel there was also quality gained by paying a bit more. Very happy with this purchase.I like this case. The origami stand is great. The texture is nice. However, I decided to try wireless charging, and it did not work too well. It was very slow to charge, and the heat from charging caused the case to form a bubble. Pretty disappointed about that. So, great case if you do not want to use wireless charging.Update: I was able to use a heat gun to pull the material back and smooth it out. So the case looks like new again. Still very happy with this case. Just use a charging cable to be safe. The problem with the Soke case for the Kindle Paperwhite is that when you use it to prop up the kindle on the table in front of you, the left side of the bottom of the Kindle screen is slightly higher than the right side. It's slightly slanted to the right - - if the words on the screen were loose, they'd slide downhill and fall of the right side. I didn't want to believe it, but the more I looked the more it bothered me. So I measured it.The left side of the bottom of the Kindle screen was 6/32 of an inch higher than the right side of the bottom of the screen.. I measured the space from the table top to the bottom of the screen. On the left side it was 1 and 8/32 of an inch above the table, while on the right side it was 1 and 2/32 of an inch above the table. Why? When you fold the cover to make the stand that holds the Kindle upright, the left side juts down on the left side.6/32 of an inch - just 3/16 of an inch - doesn't seem like a big deal, until you spend a few minutes trying to read something on the screen. The impulse to straighten it out just gets to be too much. I'm going to have to return it.So, no, I do not recommend anyone buy this thing. It's a great disappointment to me.First of all, there are no good origami cases for the Paperwhite 5. None at all. There’s a drought on the market. This thing has very sturdy magnets. It works quite well as a stand. It does list to the right when standing though. Since all of the origami cases on Amazon for this Paperwhite 5 are like this, they’re all probably using the same manufacturer or design, which causes this crookedness. It’s quite annoying. The seller here obviously didn’t design it, he’s just reselling stuff from China at a 150% markup like everyone else, but the design should be improved upon. The case is way overpriced. You can get the exact same case (no exaggeration, exact same one) for less than half on Aliexpr. The inner “microfiber” lining is rough and cheap. Bargain basement. It feels terrible against the hand. It’s probably not good for the screen. Again, same thing as all the other third party cases, except Omoton, which has very soft lining. If the cover wasn’t so thin and sharp on the edges, if the cover material didn’t feel so cheap, if the inner lining was soft instead of scratchy and rough, if in stand mode it didn’t tilt to the right, and if the price were $10 cheaper, this would be a nice case. Strong magnets are basically the only positive, and they’re not as strong as some others.
