It opens and the kindle lights up ready to go.. The short or long stand easily popped out and sits comfortably and quickly. Magnets keep these closed when not in use. Light weight and seems durable. Not as slippery as the kindle itself.I always felt like I would drop it without the cover. The purple a bit metallic looking and not embarrassing for this fifty something.
